Island in the Sun

There are so many films/movies released that don't interest me or are truly terrible. They are all death, evil, apocalyptic, stupid, poorly written, all explosions, full frontal nudity, etc. Yet, when I turn on the Turner Classic Movies Channel, all the movies seem to be well done and interesting.

My latest accidental classic movie favorite is Island in the Sun. I woke up at 2 a.m. on Thursday and it had just started playing on TCM. I went back to sleep but not before setting my dvr to record the rest of the movie. Dorothy Dandridge, Harry Belafonte, Joan Collins, James Mason on a island in the West Indies in the midst of political change, interracial romances (note: this movie was made in 1957) and murder. You have to watch it.
