sleep schedule

I am almost ready to start exercising. Almost. (I don't mean that I will start in the next few minutes. I am preparing to exercise, in general, on the semi-regular basis, at some point during a randomly chosen day and/or days.) I found an article that outlines a daily schedule that will lead to optimal heart health. A schedule? I love it! (in theory) Of course, there is a daily walk, green tea, oatmeal, water drinking and other seemingly acceptable activities.

My biggest problem with this schedule is that it starts at 6 a.m. AND I have to go to sleep at 10 p.m. I am sure there are many good reasons that support the schedule's start time, but I cannot wake up at 6 a.m. I wonder if I could walk in my Slanket, just in case I need to take a nap somewhere on my route.
I am getting sleepy just thinking about it. Yawn.........I am going to have to sleep on this decision.

the garden within

In theory, I like to garden. What I really like to do is enjoy the outdoors after the work has been done. I like to plan the garden, order the plants and if the weather is pleasant enough, I will plant the seedlings. Watering plants is meditative and enjoyable, but that is about all I "like" to do. My imaginary cottage garden has very full flower beds, fruit trees, clover instead of grass and raised vegetable planters. Of course there would be at least one "nap spot" and a place to sit, for reading and eating.
1. Barrel Hose Sink - Just hook a hose up to wash hands off outside, it also comes with a small drain output hose that you can use to collect water in a bucket to reuse later.

2. Garden Plans- Free from bhg.com.

3. Outdoor Daybed- Words can't capture how wonderful the reading and naps would be here.

4. Round Patio Area- I like how the patio area seems hidden away. The chairs don't look that comfortable. I think that I would need something with cushions.

early to bed, early to rise - makes me grumpy

It is summer and the kids (a.k.a. those people) are on vacation. Since I don't have to wake up to take them to school by 7:45 a.m. (a torturous time) it is getting harder and harder to wake up for work. Normally I am able to wake up without the assistance of an alarm but, times are a'changing (and I am usually asleep).

1.Digital Zen Alarm & Meditation Clock / Wake to the gentle Tibetan bell-like chimes of the digital zen alarm clock and start your day more renewed and refreshed. Use the countdown as a meditation clock or timer for yoga practice.

2.Clocky Alarm Clock / Clocky is the alarm clock that can jump down from up to 3 feet and run away and hide if you don't get out of bed on time. After one snooze cycle, Clocky will roll and move around the room with randomly patterned alarm beeps. (This "feature" can be disabled.)

3.Early Bird Alarm Clock / Early Bird Alarm Clock will awaken you gently and sweetly with woodsy chirping and a little bird icon that pulses and glows.

chaising sleep

This isn't at my house but I think I will add it to my imaginary cottage's blueprints. The concrete chaise lounge can be hosed off easily and made really comfortable with cushions from any home improvement store. I imagine a moderately sized shade tree planted at the head of my chaise and I will also plant jasmine and lavender around the edges. So relaxing. This is genius in it's simplicity, I don't know why these aren't more common.

Ciao, I want to go to Taos!

Taos is featured on my road trip list and when I make it there, it looks as though I could be as lazy (or active) as I want.  I want to stay at the La Posada De Taos Bed & Breakfast, my decision is based almost completely on the look of their waffles.  Most rooms have semi-private patios (where I could sit and read) but every room has a fireplace that is lit daily during cold weather periods and all the beds are dressed with 600 thread count sheets.  (I am still lobbying for a hotel, motel and b&b rating system based on bed comfort levels.)

La Posada is walking distance from museums, galleries, shops and restaurants, as well as, a bluff overlooking park and pastureland. I could also fly fish (which is on my list of things to do before I die), white water raft, horseback ride or hike.  In the winter I could snowboard, ski, cross country ski or snowshoe.  Hot air ballooning is also available but that won't happen on my watch.  If God wanted me hovering around in the air, I would have been born a hummingbird.

Bedtime Fantasy

I realize that this post might make me seem quite sloth like.....I don't care.  I love to sleep.  LOVE IT.  I love to sleep so much I should marry Sleep. The only thing standing in the way of my marriage to sleep is my husband and laws against bigamy .  Ahhhhhh, sweet, sweet sleep.

I have Sleep fantasies.  I have begun to arrange my rendezvous with Sleep.  I have a location selected, an outfit picked out, etc.

I think that hotels should be rated by the comfort level of their beds. I like the look of the beds at The Orchid Inn located in Santa Barbara.  (If all else fails I could make the drive to the most comfortable bed I have ever slept at The Palazzo Hotel in Las Vegas.)  Just to sleep, watch girl movies, read, get a facial and massage, eat and sleep some more.   My tryst with sleep will only last three days and two nights.  No cleaning, no laundry, no cooking, no PTA, no work, nobody telling me that they are hungry. "They" can all survive.

Now to put my plan into action, to cover my tracks, no paper trail.  I am toying with the idea of sanding the fingerprints off my hands.....whatever it takes!
